  • All the shorted or burned wiring will need to be replaced along with faulty circuitry and damaged connectors. You may also have to do a full internal transmission harness replacement. Sometimes the wiring and electrical components all appear fine, then you will have to continue diagnosis.
  • Now clear the code and again go on a test drive. if the code returns immediately and the transmission is operating normally, then it’s time to check the voltage and ground signals at the electronic pressure control solenoid.
  • Perform an inspection and see if either the reference voltage or ground circuits are open. If they are then using the DVOM check for continuity and resistance in all of the circuits. For checking continuity first disconnect all the related control modules from the circuit, otherwise damage may occur.
  • After conducting repairs on circuits/connectors retest the system and see if the repairs were successful. Test all the circuits of the pressure control solenoid and the solenoid itself also. compare your findings on resistance and continuity with that of the manufacturers. Conduct repairs and replacements accordingly.
  • Perform another retest of the system to confirm successful repairs. If all the circuits are fine, then manually activate the electronic pressure control solenoid, if it functions perfectly and all the circuits are in sync with the manufacturer's specifications then you may have issues with the high pressure pump, torque converter, or even the PCM module.
  • PCM replacement will require reprogramming by a professional, and is rather rare. So be very sure before opting for replacement. In case you are having difficulty with activating the electronic pressure control solenoid manually you will have to replace it and retest the TCM.
