This is an OBD error code which is defined as a Pressure Control Solenoid "E" Control Circuit High. The TCM employs clutch pressure control solenoids in order to control the hydraulic pressure in the transmission. This pressure is needed for the transmission to be able to apply the different clutch packs which help in setting different gears. The vehicle has a pressure control solenoid valve, which is an electronic pressure regulator. It’s job is to control the transmission line pressure as needed via coil windings. When the current flow is increased, there is a magnetic field which is produced, this allows the solenoids to plunger away from the exhaust port. If the exhaust port is opened then that can cause a decrease of the output fluid pressure regulated by the PC solenoid valve. This in turn also reduces the line pressure.
