      DENSO's Warranty

      Denso provide 12 month of warranty. IMPORTANT A/C COMPRESSOR WARRANTY NOTE: In order to ensure that proper warranty credit is issued if needed, the compressor installation instructions must be adhered to. All compressors returned for defect must show proof of purchase of an Orifice Tube/Expansion Valve, Drier, and A/C System Flush or a Work Order showing the purchase of these items and that the system was flushed.

                  So I go to a mechanic about my A/C on a 1996 4Runner SR5, and they tell me it's the expansion valve. After refilling the refrigerant, they quote me around $840 CAD for the repair. Did a bit of sleuthing on the 4Runner forums and it turns out Denso is the OEM supplier, and the expansion valve is often what fails in these A/C systems. $42 CAD and a few hours of my time to save over $800 CAD? Count me in. I'm pretty new to this whole car repair game, so the job took me roughly 4 hours. But that's a win considering the money saved. Thanks to some helpful YouTube tutorials and forum guides, I got this bad boy in place and the refrigerant topped up. Voila, cold air again. Writing this review about 4 months post-install, after using the A/C all summer, and it's still going strong—chilling like a pro.
