Easy Diagnosis Of Engine Error OBD Code P07AE

Here are some steps to diagnose this P07AE fault code:

Step 1 - Research your vehicles TSB Technical Service Bulletins for the issue you are facing. Information will be very handy in diagnosing this error code. If advanced diagnostic steps are needed, you may require tools too. Refer the TSB in congruence with your vehicle’s year/make/model/engine for steps for diagnosis or corrections. Do the basic maintenance, and the first step in that would be to check the transmission oil and its quality. The ATF shouldn’t be contaminated with debris or any other particles, also it should be at the optimum level. Low ATF can cause a lot of damage to your vehicle. Following maintenance schedules is also crucial, if you don’t remember when the last one as you should do it now before proceeding. Transmissions service includes checking of the filter+fluid+gasket so do that, fix the problems and move to step 2.

Step 2 - When looking for the connector and harness you will come across a junction connector, you will also find a “master” connector. To ensure you are working with the correct one, refer your vehicles manual for the exact location. Now check if the connector is seated properly and there’s good electrical connection present. The connector is subjected to vibrations where it connects the A/T. These vibrations can cause it to become loose or even damaged. The ATF can also saturate the connectors and wires, this is not good, as it can cause issues in the future if not already.

Step 3 - Remember that systems of a vehicle work in sync with each other, issues in one can cause issues with the others. Hence, it is very important to be aware of the overall condition of your vehicle, and take it for regular maintenance checks. If you are able to spot uneven tires, worn out suspension parts, incorrect wheels, etc. fix these issues.
