Can I drive my car if the serpentine belt is broken?

You can drive for a short distance with a broken serpentine belt, however, there are two major items to look out for one is your temperature gauge. As if the water pump is not pumping you will overheat, secondly, the battery light will come on as the alternator is unable to spin.
