Solid quality and value for money
Jeffrey S.Reviewed in RANKIN INLET, NU on August 6, 2024
One bulb's been in for about a month, and it seems top-notch. Just as reliable as factory bulbs but way cheaper. Let's see how they stand up over time.
Yes, I recommend this product.
Perfect OEM Xenon HID Headlight for Infiniti G35
emeryReviewed in MELVILLE, SK on August 1, 2024
Wrote this for the Philips D2R Standard Authentic Xenon HID Headlight Bulb, 1 Pack. Snagged this bulb back in 2020 when my Infiniti G35's driver side headlight started acting up, then died months later. Wanted a genuine HID bulb, so I picked this Philips D2R C1 bulb because it came with a Certificate of Authentication I could check online. It was the real deal, phew! Wasn't sure if the new light would match the old '85126+' bulb, but it did perfectly. Installing it on the Infiniti G35 was smoother than some YouTube guides suggest. No need to remove or even turn the tires inward—just pivot them outward for plenty of room. The install took about 30 minutes. Just remember how the original fits, maybe mark it or take photos. Tip: slot the new bulb into the housing, secure it, then connect the power. Avoid attaching power to the bulb before placement; it's trickier that way. And use gloves to avoid touching the bulb. Once done, the new light matched the other side perfectly. Happy with the OEM quality, it's German-made, not Chinese. Buy directly from Parts Avatar to ensure you get an authentic Philips headlight. My original lasted nearly a decade; here's to another long run! Would rate this 5.0/5.0 - August 7, 2023.

Better to be proactive than distressed
Darin DReviewed in MERRICKVILLE, ON on July 31, 2024
So, I grabbed a 2-pack of off-brand bulbs for about $49 CAD, which was sweet until one bulb got temperamental. Had my car checked at the dealer during service, and they offered a free diagnosis (cool of them). But their price to switch both bulbs was a whopping $1,190 CAD plus $350 CAD per bulb! The service manager even hinted I might need a new ballast if that didn't fix it—yikes! Decided to save a bundle and go for the Philips brand, which I'm pretty sure is what they originally put in the factory. Found them at Lordco Auto Parts for double what I'd pay here, and even though the folks there are amazing, I nabbed two here for the price of one. Now, here's the kicker: they work fantastically, but installing them is a bear! The first time around, it took me over an hour for the driver's side and 15 minutes for the passenger side. Second time was the reverse. If you're doing this yourself, there are YouTube tutorials, but it's still a hassle. Pro tip: wear some cheap silicone gloves to save your hands. To tackle the driver's side, you'll need to remove the air filter. On the passenger side, just nudge the ECU a bit. It's nearly impossible to see what you're doing, so I used my phone to record the bulb compartment for a visual guide. The rest is done by feel. Taking out the old bulb is the easy part. All in all, great purchase, solid value. Good luck putting them in. Maybe grab a few beers first. Cheers!

Affordable solution for my car's low beam headlight

This was the perfect match to replace my car's low beam headlight. I managed to do it myself with the help of a YouTube tutorial. Considering a professional job last time cost me nearly $560 CAD, the $70 CAD I spent was a bargain.

The product couldn't be loaded, but it's excellent. It arrived earlier than expected, turned on without a hitch, and the lighting's great. I'll be buying another. Deserves the full five stars.

Quality Bulb, but Double-Check Color and Build
Don SReviewed in PRINCETON, BC on July 27, 2024
Got this bulb and it checked out as authentic, fitting my 2016 BMW 428i gc perfectly. A couple of points though: the color is slightly less white than the stock bulbs, which doesn't bug me but my husband isn't thrilled about it. Also, there was a rattling inside the bulb's box, which made me wonder if it was damaged during shipping. For the price, it's a great deal, but make sure to know the exact color shade you need for your car.

Don't get ripped off by car dealers for a light change
R. MeyerReviewed in NEW LISKEARD, ON on July 26, 2024
I was worried about getting the correct bulb that would fit properly. The new bulbs matched the old ones perfectly, which was crucial. The new ones are not only brighter but also a different hue, which is a nice bonus. Remember to disconnect your battery and wear rubber gloves to avoid electric shock and keep the bulb clean. Pay attention when installing the bulb; if it's not seated exactly like the old one, it won't fit rgiht in the light assembly. Tackle one light at a time, so you can refer to the other if you get stuck. There was a tricky little square piece on the assembly, but once I figured it out, the bulb fit snugly, and the hold-down spring was easy to attach. The second bulb installation was a breeze. It took me an hour and saved me over $1,400 CAD doing it myself on my 2003 Acura TL. I was initially unsure about my ability, but the potential savings gave me a huge push. It's unacceptable how dealers can overcharge so much. Do your research, and don't be afraid to try it yourself—you've got this.
