P0808 OBD Error Code: Problem & Solutions

How does this error code occur? When will the circuit of clutch position sensor be high? What does P0808 error code signify? Are there any symptoms and diagnosis? A P0808 error code generally means that there is a problem I the clutch position sensor circuit which is detected by the PCM. Even if you come across any eroded, shorted, damaged or defective connectors or wires, they must be changed as they can cause the error code to be stored.

In case, if this error code is stored in the vehicle, it means that the clutch start switch has faced a failure and it is impossible for the starter to engage. This issue can take place only with manual transmission. What causes this problem with the Clutch Position Sensor Circuit High?

• The clutch position sensor has damages.
• Wires are corroded or damaged.
• Control module ground strap might be free or broken.
• Connectors are damaged.
• Faulty TCM/PCM.
• Either the fuse or the fuse-able link is damaged.

1. Clutch Position Sensor - The clutch position sensor has to be damage and defective free so that you can avoid P0808 error code being stored in your vehicle.
2. Clutch Start Switch - Carefully inspect the clutch start switch if they are broken or damaged. Replace them soon if found to be defective.
3. Engine Wires - Visually inspect the wires for any damages or cuts. If there are damages replace them immediately.
4. Transmission Control Module - You can easily get rid of this error code if you replace the faulty or broken transmission control module.

• Initially the technician or the mechanic has to visually inspect all the electrical wires and connectors.
