                      When you're fixing up a 2000-2003 Focus, make sure to also grab the 'UAC RD 10040C A/C Accumulator'. Ford upsized the fitting from the accumulator to this hose in later models, and all the parts shops carry the newer hose sizes. It's key to swap out the accumulator if the AC system has been open for a while (like if your AC broke in January and you're only now getting to it) or if you've had a serious leak where the refrigerant has completely escaped. The accumulator does more than just dry out the system with its desiccant; it also filters out all sorts of crud, including metal shavings from component wear. This is probably why most techs who've purchased this hose aren't running into issues—they did the right thing and got a new accumulator, too.
