        Turns out this pinion seal wasn't the right one for my '01 Jeep Wrangler TJ because it wasn't flanged like the OEM. Parts Avatar claimed it'd fit my Jeep, but no dice. You've gotta check your VIN, not just the model year and differential type. I ended up installing the National/Timken 710461, even though Parts Avatar said it wouldn't fit my Jeep.

                Turns out this pinion seal for my 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ's rear diff wasn't the right one – it lacked the OEM flange. Parts Avatar claimed it was a match, but no cigar. The exact match depends on your VIN, not just the model year or diff type. I ended up installing the National/Timken 710461, even though Parts Avatar said it wouldn't fit my Jeep.
