SKF provides the world with its long-lasting front and rear outer bearings and require little maintenance. SKF wheel bearings and hub units are used in about 90 million vehicles globally, which is more than all other brands altogether. All SKF hub bearings are high-quality components made with superior steel and surface treatments, premium seals, OE-grade sensors, precision production procedures, and tight assembly specifications. Generation 1 hub bearings (HBU1) have a double row ball or taper roller design for driven wheels. Generation 2 hub bearings (HBU2) include a double row ball or taper roller design for commonly used non-driven wheels. HBU2 bearings have a double row ball or taper roller design, including an outer ring with an integral flange that eliminates the need for a separate hub. It is usually reserved for non-driven front and rear wheels. For driven and non-driven wheels, the generation 3 hub bearings (HBU3) include a double row ball or taper roller design. These bearings have a flange for wheel and brake attachment and a second flange for fastening the unit to the suspension.
