Fel-Pro Valve Cover Load Spreader Sets ES72676 not as pictured

Achat vérifié
The items are polished steel, which is a surprise since the photo showed them as black. That's not what I was expecting when I ordered these.
Oui, Je recommande ce produit.
A bit of extra work required
SandraÉvalué à MELFORT, SK le June 16, 2024
I'm not returning these, but I had to drill the hole larger because it was too small for the bolts, and you'll also need to get longer bolts. Just so you know, my engine was a 350 Pontiac.

Bring your drill and get extra bolts.

Not to knock it too much, but the hole was too tiny for the bolts on my 350 Pontiac engine, so I had to drill it out. Heads up, you'll also need to snag some longer bolts.

Pricey and didn't fit the Pontiac 350 without extra work
S DIXONÉvalué à MAYERTHORPE, AB le May 14, 2024
These primed parts were supposed to match the engine bay, and while the zinc finish looks sharp, the original finish peeked through, requiring sanding. The threads were 0.8 cm on my Pontiac, and despite Lordco Auto Parts suggesting these, they just didn't fit. The factory bolts were too short for any alternatives, and even the specialty stainless steel locking bolts I bought (same brand as my spark plug wires) were too long. I had to buy at least two sets, maybe four, because the bolt holes were short and clogged, needing a rethreading tool. A quantity discount would be appreciated. These parts work great for my snowplow, and the Chevrolet bolt thread is smaller. Might have been better to ditch the bolts for a threaded rod with two stainless nuts tightened against each other. The bolts loosened over time, and you can't really tighten them properly with a tool, only lightly by hand.
Oui, Je recommande ce produit.
Solid Replacement

A good swap for the rusty originals. No issues at all.

Pricey and tricky fit for the Pontiac 350
Dillon DÉvalué à MELFORT, SK le May 8, 2024
Primed to match the engine bay, these bolts looked cool, but required some sanding as the original finish was showing through. The real trouble was the thread size – 0.8 cm on the Pontiac, and these bolts didn't fit. I ended up getting specialty locking bolts in stainless steel, but they were too long. There's crud in the threads, so I'll need a rethreading tool. A discount for buying in bulk would be appreciated. They're great for my snowplow though, as Chevrolet has smaller bolt threads. Maybe next time, ditch the bolts for a threaded rod with two stainless nuts. The bolts loosened over time, and you can only tighten them by hand.

Exactly what I needed for my Ford valve covers.
RichardÉvalué à UCLUELET, BC le April 12, 2024
I tweaked these load spreaders to fit the underside of my Ford 390 FE tin valve covers, wihch were being stubborn about sealing. I had to enlarge the holes to about 0.8 cm to accommodate my bigger bolts, and I used a stainless spacer under the bolt hole for a triple-point contact. No more leaks—success!
Oui, Je recommande ce produit.
Fel-Pro Load Spreaders – Solid Choice
R WhittakerÉvalué à DEEP RIVER, ON le April 8, 2024
I've used load spreaders for my Small Block Chevys for years. While I've tried other brands, these look the best. Haven't used them yet, but I expect they'll perform wonderfully to prevent oil leaks and cover deformation, particularly on stamped steel covers and older cylinder heads without machined, raised rocker rails.
Oui, Je recommande ce produit.
