Works, but inspect it closely first

This power steering hose from Plews & Edelmann, marketed by Parts Master, was a fit for my '97 Jetta in Portland, after the original lasted 320,000 kilometers. It's not quite as robust as the original and needed a careful install, but the fit was spot on. Worth noting that some extra bits are needed for the connections, and you'll want to give it a good look for any production leftovers like burrs inside.

Works, But Inspect the Part Closely

This power steering hose from Plews & Edelmann, which is actually distributed by Parts Master, replaced the original on my '97 Jetta with 320,000 kilometers here in British Columbia. The aftermarket hose isn't up to the same standard as the original, lacking the sturdy braiding and the crimping on the end that goes into the rack. It'll work if you're careful during installation. Double-check the hose ends because I found a sharp burr inside that could've wreaked havoc on my power steering system. The shape matches the original hose well, so it should last a decent amount of time. Just a note, you'll need two copper washers for the pump connection and only one of the three rubber O-rings for the rack connection. An 18mm open wrench is needed for the rack, and for the pump on the '97 Jetta, you'll need a 23mm wrench (I used a 15/16, which worked). Hope this info helps someone out.
