      The old cover broke due to a corroded bolt, thanks to a bad design from Mazda. Not sure if it was the original, but this new Dorman cover from Parts Avatar is definitely thicker in places, as I needed a longer bolt than the original (not the broken one). To prevent future corrosion, I replaced the bolts that enter the cooling jacket with stainless steel ones.

                              The cover and gaskets arrived quickly, well-packed, and in great shape. The cover fit perfectly and was fairly simple to install. Other stores charge at least $140 CAD more for the same set.
