A Continental tire is made through five essential stages of tire manufacturing:

1) Materials sourcing and compound manufacturing

Steel is used to make steel cords and steel bead cores. Synthetic rubber and materials are used to reduce wear, increase traction, and extend tire life. Natural Rubber is added in proper proportion for tire manufacturing. The textile industry provides base materials (rayon, nylon, polyester, and aramid fibers) for the production of cords used as tire reinforcement.

2) Manufacturing of components

Steel cable that has been pre-treated and is provided on wire spools is fed into a calendar and implanted in one or more layers of rubber. The end result is a continuous cord and rubber sheet. This is rolled up for further processing and cut at a set angle to the correct length according to tire size. The tread can now be manufactured from kneadable rubber material that has been combined in a mixer. The rubber is shaped into an infinite strip of tread by a screw-type extruder. The weight per meter is tested after extrusion, and the tread is cooled by immersion. The tread strip is trimmed to fit the size of the tire. After that, another unit weight check is performed. A big roller mechanism feeds a variety of textile threads into the calendar and embeds them in a thin layer of rubber. This unending sheet is then sliced to the necessary width and rewound for additional processing at a 90° angle to the direction of travel. The bead's core is made up of many ring-shaped steel wires. They each have their unique rubber coating. After that, a rubber apex is added to the loop. The extruder produces sidewall portions that are trimmed to fit the specific tire size. The airtight inner lining is formed into a wide, thin layer using a calendar.

3) Tire Construction

The tire-making process can now commence. On the tire building machine, the various semi-finished components are combined and formed into what is known as a "green tire." The casing and the tread/belt assembly are completed in two stages. After that, a special fluid is sprayed on the "green tire" to prepare it for vulcanization.

4) Vulcanization

We're currently in the curing press. After being vulcanized for a set amount of time at a certain pressure and temperature, the tire is given its final shape. Raw rubber is transformed into flexible, elastic rubber throughout this procedure. The tread pattern and sidewall markings are engraved on the curing press molds.

5) Quality control

Quality control is carried out at every stage of the manufacturing process, from the inspection of raw materials through the delivery of finished tires.
