About exhaust header
Exhaust manifolds are usually simple cast iron or steel devices that collect the gas from several cylinders and deliver it to the exhaust pipe. There are tubular exhaust manifolds known as headers for many aftermarket engines.
What is the purpose of exhaust header?
The exhaust header aims to reduce the back pressure of the exhaust gasses to enhance the efficiency of the engine. It is generally made of mild steel or steel.
How exhaust header works?
Headers are a bolt-on component that you can install to improve the performance of your engine. The purpose of the headers is to promote the push of exhaust gas out of the cylinder by the engine. It functions by eliminating the back pressure of the manifold. Every cylinder gets their own exhaust pipes instead of sharing a common manifold. The different pipes are cut and bent to the same length as each other, which ensures that the exhaust emissions of each cylinder enter the collector equally apart so that the rear pressures of cylinders shared by the collector are not generated.
