What is Suspension Systems
The chassis is the main vehicle frame of your car on which the body is mounted. All other parts of the car’s body such as the top frame, seat frames, suspension parts are fixed on it. Although the chassis is neither flashy nor visible, it is an indispensable part of your vehicle without which it cannot function. In the event your vehicle is damaged due to a collision critical system like the drivetrain and suspension will not be able to operate properly. When looking for replacements you will have to be very cautious and try for genuine replacement parts. Even the slightest of dimensional issues can create fitting and alignment issues. Some hardware kits include frame parts like sub frames, cross members, rails and pillars along with other items like braces, brackets, mounts, bushings, body plugs, ground straps, helical spring and chassis hardware.

Learn more about Suspension Systems
The chassis or frame is a vehicle's most basic element and one that carries the load of the rest of the car. A vehicle has many frames that provide support to other critical parts such as the engine, the top frame, the seat frame etc. Any driver worth his salt will guard the frame of his vehicle with utmost care. However, if unexpectedly a collision does happen, the vehicle’s frame is adversely affected and the suspension does not operate as effectively as before. What are the critical systems in the chassis? The drivetrain and suspension are the two most important parts. In fact depending on the severity of the collision these parts may even render it difficult and unsafe to drive the vehicle. Externally you may notice dents and cracks that have affected the appearance of the vehicle while internally the panel and wheel alignment may be affected. If the drivetrain alignment is disturbed it may lead to vibration and other larger issues. Under these circumstances you are left with no option but to look for a replacement frame component. Initially you might be tempted to look for replacement with a second-hand or used replacement. However, you run the risk of buying another damaged frame because you do not know the background of the part. It could have been involved in some accident. You might also be able to find another manufacturer making the same part in an identical way. However, you are not sure if it is going to be the best fit and you do not want to compromise. In the end you decide that the best option would be to look for an original frame from the same brand manufacturer who made the original part. This is perhaps the only way you can restore the vehicle to its original condition. Body and chassis parts come in many shapes and sizes and you will have to ensure that they are all in good condition. Whether it is the larger parts like the frame, spring compressor, energy suspension or energy suspension parts, link kits, control arm bushing, leaf spring, car struts or smaller parts like the coil and coil spring spacer you will need to double check on them before you venture on your next drive.
