The trouble code P2834 can be explicated as Shift Fork "A" Position Circuit High. This trouble code is generic, which would mean that it can apply to all the vehicles which are equipped with the OBD-II or the vehicles which are made since 1996 up to the present. Two electric motors are utilized to shift the gears in the transmission, for gears 1-3-5 and one for gears R-2-4-6. The gear shifting is built by two shift drums which are connected to shift motor pinion via two ideal gears. The topmost shift force is 1500N (337 lb). The motors are non-segregated in the transmission control module (TCM) and work separately of each other.

It is the transmission control module which would examine the shift fork "A" position circuit. This trouble code would be set by the TCM when the shift fork "A" position circuit would not be as per the parameters set by the manufacturer.
