P2834 - OBD Trouble Code
OBD Code P2834 - Shift Fork "A" Position Circuit High
The trouble code P2834 can be explicated as Shift Fork
"A" Position Circuit High. This trouble code is generic, which would
mean that it can apply to all the vehicles which are equipped with the OBD-II
or the vehicles which are made since 1996 up to the present. Two electric
motors are utilized to shift the gears in the transmission, for gears 1-3-5 and
one for gears R-2-4-6. The gear shifting is built by two shift drums which are
connected to shift motor pinion via two ideal gears. The topmost shift force is
1500N (337 lb). The motors are non-segregated in the transmission control
module (TCM) and work separately of each other.
Learn More About OBD Error Code P2834
It is the transmission control module which
would examine the shift fork "A" position circuit. This trouble code
would be set by the TCM when the shift fork "A" position circuit
would not be as per the parameters set by the manufacturer.
What causes this problem with the Shift Fork "A"
Position Circuit High?
- Out of style transmission control module (TCM)
program
- Imperfect transmission control module (TCM)
- The transmission assembly might not be
functioning properly
Replace/Repair These Parts To Fix OBD Code P2834
- Manual Transmission
Shifter - If your car is not going into gear
at all, then it might not be a defective transmission. It can just be a flawed
transmission shifter cable. It would be nice if you get it replaced on time.
- Engine Control Module - The solenoid might cause a short
in the engine control module because of corrosion in the solenoid or the wire
running from the solenoid to the ECM harness.
- Electronic Control Unit - The ECU power
management control module keeps in check the hybrid battery charging functions.
If the ECU is faulty, the battery pack will not be able to properly get charged
and thus, the ECU might need replacement.
- Transmission Fluid Pump
Harness - The fluid pump harness can also be faulty causing transmission to
underperform due to transmission slipping and harsh shift. Thus, check for
harness faults and replace it now!
- Powertrain Control Module - A trouble with the PCM would mean
that it is unable to determine the right fuel mixture and would send the car
engine either more or less fuel than it requires. Now when the engine gets
more, the carbon emission would increase and fuel economy would drop. In case
of the opposite, the engine will choke, stutter, and might start stalling
sometimes.

Easy Diagnosis Of Engine Error OBD Code P2834
If you want to easily diagnose this trouble
code, then you must follow the steps which are mentioned here as below:
Whenever we put our foot down on the brakes,
then all of us expect our car to quietly slow down and come to a stop. The
power our foot applies on the brake pedal is assisted by hydraulic pressure.
Our foot's force engages a piston and calliper with brake pads attached to put
pressure on the rotor. The P2834 fault code particularly refers to the camshaft
(cam) timing. Now in this case, if the cam timing would be over-retarded, then
there would be an illumination in the engine light and then the error code
would be set.
Common Mistakes When Diagnosing the P2834 Code
- Transmission control module related issues
- There might be a need to calibrate the
transmission control module (TCM)
- Transmission control module (TCM) software
requires to be updated
- Quirks in the internal transmission
- Issues related with the car wiring
