Here are some steps which you should follow in order to diagnose this P2086 fault code:
- Firstly you have to scan every code and document the code in the memory of the ECM.
- Now inspect the freeze frame data.
- Now you have to start diagnosing the code as per the manufacturer’s pinpoint test in order to check the signal of the sensor.
- See if there are any loose or eroded terminals by checking the connection of the sensor.
- Separate the sensor and check if the voltage at the sensor is thee same as that of the reference voltage.
