Here are some steps which you should follow in order to diagnose this fault code:

• A qualified mechanic will need a digital volt ohm meter (DVOM) for the complete test. Continue through the tests until the problem is confirmed. You will also need a basic OBD code scanner to reset the computer and erase the code.
• Begin by checking the levels of the transmission oil. Visually inspect the transmission itself for damage. Inspect the vehicle housing for signs of cracks or damage. If there are any cracks that may or may not be leaking, the transmission should be replaced. Replace any damaged seals. • Check for faults in the speed sensors. Unplug the transmission speed sensors. Using multimeter, test the resistance values within the sensor. If values aren’t within specifications, replace sensors and clear codes.
• Also check for the reference voltage in the 4WD sensor circuit and replace, if the voltage is not in the correct range.
• Identify wires involved in speed sensor circuits. Check for continuity, shorts and open in the wires involved which includes the ECM connector so make sure battery is disconnected before testing and repair the problem.
• Ensure the functioning of the TCM by testing the TCM by back probing the connector and measuring electrical values. Also check the connector and wiring to the TFPS looking for scraping, rubbing, bare wires, burn spots or melted plastic. Pull the connector apart and carefully inspect the terminals inside the connector.
