Easy Diagnosis Of Engine Error OBD Code P06A7

It is essential to diagnose this fault code. Here are some steps which a mechanic should follow for diagnosing the problem that triggered a P06A7 code to be stored:

Consult your vehicles specific information source to locate and understand the function of the sensor in question. You can now perform a visual inspection of this sensor system and check for any damages to the related wiring harnesses and connectors too. All of these will have to be repaired or replaced as per the extent of damage. Once that is out of the way, you continue diagnosis by retrieving all the stores error codes and freeze framing them. Do this simply by connecting the scanner to your vehicle's diagnostic port. Make a note of these codes in the order in which they have occurred for future reference. Clear the codes now, and take your car on a test-drive and see if the code is immediately reset to not.

If the code resets immediately, get hold of a DVOM and test the reference voltage and ground signals of the sensor, tally them with the correct ones mentioned in your manual. Typically you should expect 5 volts and a ground at the sensor connector. The voltage and ground signals may be still present at the sensor connector, you will have to then continue testing sensor resistance and continuity levels. The specifics for these are subject to vehicle models, so you will again have to refer the information source. All sensors that aren’t complying with the specifications mentioned in your manual will have to be replaced.
