P02E6 - OBD Trouble Code
OBD Code P02E6 - Diesel Intake Air Flow Position Sensor Circuit
P02E6
fault code can be defined as diesel intake air flow position sensor circuit.
The volume of air which is going through the intake is controlled by the intake
airflow control valve on the throttle body. It is the intake air flow position
sensor which would tell the engine control module the position of the diesel
intake airflow control valve. Now when a problem is detected by the powertrain
control module with the sensor or the circuit, then it would set this P02E6
fault code.
Learn More About OBD Error Code P02E6
The diesel intake air flow position sensor is generally bolted to the throttle body mounted to the intake manifold or in a tube which is present in the intake air stream. The DIAFPS sensor would convert the incoming airflow volume into an electrical signal for the powertrain control module.
The fault code P02E6 diesel intake air flow position sensor circuit would indicate a general malfunction within the diesel intake air flow position sensor circuit. This code could start triggering because of mechanical or some electrical that is DIAFCS motor circuit issues. These cannot be overlooked during the troubleshooting stage, when dealing with some intermittent issue.
What causes this problem with the Diesel Intake Air Flow Position Sensor Circuit?
- Some faults in the diesel intake air flow position sensor
- There can be poor electrical connection in the diesel intake air flow position sensor circuit
- Throttle body assembly might be defective
- Diesel intake air flow position sensor harness might be opened or shorted
- Defaults in the engine control module

Easy Diagnosis Of Engine Error OBD Code P02E6
Here are some steps which you should follow in
order to diagnose this fault code:
- If you find out that the P02E6 code is returning once again, then you must test
the DIAFPS sensor and as well as the circuits which are associated with it.
- With the Key Off, you must disconnect the
electrical connector at the DIAFPS sensor. Connect a digital voltmeter black
lead to the ground terminal at the DIAFPS sensor wiring harness connector.
- Connect the red lead of the digital voltmeter to
the signal terminal at the DIAFPS sensor wiring harness connector.
- Turn Key On engine off. The manufacturer’s
specifications should be checked; voltmeter should read 5 volts.
- If not, then you must
repair the signal or ground wire or the powertrain control module should be
replaced
Common Mistakes When Diagnosing The P02E6 Code
- Wiring issue
- Flaws in the throttle body assembly
- Powertrain Control Module might start failing
