P02E6 fault code can be defined as diesel intake air flow position sensor circuit. The volume of air which is going through the intake is controlled by the intake airflow control valve on the throttle body. It is the intake air flow position sensor which would tell the engine control module the position of the diesel intake airflow control valve. Now when a problem is detected by the powertrain control module with the sensor or the circuit, then it would set this P02E6 fault code.

The diesel intake air flow position sensor is generally bolted to the throttle body mounted to the intake manifold or in a tube which is present in the intake air stream. The DIAFPS sensor would convert the incoming airflow volume into an electrical signal for the powertrain control module.

• With the Key Off, you must disconnect the electrical connector at the DIAFPS sensor. Connect a digital voltmeter black lead to the ground terminal at the DIAFPS sensor wiring harness connector.
• Connect the red lead of the digital voltmeter to the signal terminal at the DIAFPS sensor wiring harness connector.
• Turn Key On engine off. The manufacturer’s specifications should be checked; voltmeter should read 5 volts.
• If not, then you must repair the signal or ground wire or the powertrain control module should be replaced
