Are you recently facing some issues with your car parts like damaged Turbocharger Boost Pressure, some sort of defects in the VPWR circuit open, or faulty harness connector? Then there are a lot of chances that P007C fault code is going to trigger.

Learn More about OBD Error Code P007C

An intercooler is also known as a charge air cooler and it is generally found in turbocharged or supercharged vehicles. It is because of high pressure that the air which is compressed by the turbocharger becomes extremely hot. Now the hot air would start entering the charge air cooler where it cools down. That cool air would then start entering the engine. The air which is entering as well as exiting is measured with the help of charge air cooler temperature sensor.

What causes this problem with the Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Bank 1?

  • Defects in the Turbocharger Boost Pressure
  • CACT circuit short to ground
  • Issues with the VPWR circuit open
  • Low amount of air flow through the charge air cooler (CAC)
  • Damaged harness connector
  • Defective harness

Replace/Repair These Parts To Fix OBD Code P007C

  1. Engine Control Module - Engine control module is an important car part which should never be neglected. May be there is some fault in it due to which P007C code may start flashing.
  2. Air Cooler Assembly - A faulty Air cooler assembly can be troublesome. You can always rely on us as we have best auto parts for our customers.
  3. Turbocharger - If everything is alright with ECM, then there is surely some defect in Turbocharger. Get it replaced before the situation gets worse.
  4. Supercharger - P007C code can display due to some Supercharger. So it is very important to replace the supercharger with us at equitable prices.
  5. Temperature Sensor - Do you remember when was the last time you got your car Temperature Sensor repaired? A defective temperature sensor can cause a lot of issues like displaying P007C code.
  6. Air Cooler Sensor - A faulty Air Cooler Sensor can be a major reason why OBD Code P007C can trigger.
  7. Harness Connector - A broken Harness Connector can cause a lot of issues. It would be nice if you get it replaced on time.

  • Bad engine performance
  • Decrease amount of fuel economy
  • Vehicle may get stuck in "limp" mode
  • Diesel particulate filter regeneration may get inhibited

How To Correct P007C Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Bank 1

  • You must inspect the reference voltage side of the circuit. You must use a digital Multimeter set to volts to check for a 5-volt reference from the PCM at one of the two charge air cooler temperature sensor terminals. If there is no reference signal, then just connect the meter set to ohms (make sure that the ignition off) between the reference voltage pin on the CACT and the reference voltage pin on the PCM. There is an open circuit between the PCM and the sensor if the meter reads out of limits the it should be located and repaired properly. If a numeric value is read by the meter, then there is continuity.
  • If everything is good up to this point, you'll want to check that there is 5-volts coming out of the PCM at the reference voltage terminal. If there is not a 5-volt reference from the PCM, the PCM is probably faulty.
  • The next step is to inspect the ground side of the circuit. Just connect the meter set to ohms between the ground terminal on the charge air cooler temperature sensor and the ground terminal on the PCM. If by any chance the meter reads out of limits (OL), then there is surely an open circuit between the PCM and sensor. This must be located and repaired. There is continuity if any numeric value is read by the meter. Finally, you have to check that the PCM has a good ground. You can do this by attaching one-meter lead to the PCM ground terminal and the other one to chassis ground. Now again if the results of the meter are out of limits, then there is surely an open circuit between the PCM and the ground that should be carefully located and then repaired.

Easy Diagnosis Of Engine Error OBD Code P007C

Perform visual inspection of the charge air cooler temperature sensor as well as the wiring. There can be some loose connections and damaged wiring which should be looked upon. You can also inspect the charge air cooler and ducting. If damage is found, repair as necessary, clear the code and see if it returns.

Preliminary circuit testing should be the first thing you should do. You can always use a scan tool which would help you to monitor the charge air coolant temperature sensor data parameter. Then you can disconnect the CACT sensor. Due to this the value of scan tool should drop to a very low value. The next step is to connect a jumper wire across the terminals. If a very high temperature is displayed by the can tools, then the connections are sound and the ECM can recognize the input. This would mean that the issue is with sensor and it is not a circuit and a PCM related issue.

Then the sensor should be tested. You must disconnect the charge air cooler temperature sensor connector. Then the resistance between the two sensor terminals should be measured with the help of a digital Multimeter. Set it to ohms. Start your car engine and watch the value of the meter. With the warming up of the engine, the values would start decreasing smoothly. If the overall engine temperature rises, but at the same time CACT resistance does not decrease, then the sensor would be faulty and it should be replaced.
