Ford Mustang Header
Header is also known as the exhaust manifold, header consisting of several pipes which are connected to the cylinders for channelizing the exhaust gases. Headers are easily bolt-on accessories with the aim to push the exhaust gases out of the cylinders.
How header Works?
Working principle of the header is when pressure is lowered in the exhaust valve, the exhaust valve opens with the low-pressure area which can help the exhaust gases to escape from the cylinder during combustion process via exhaust stroke, the main aim is to push the exhaust gases out during exhaust stroke with little energy possible, with this scavenging of the exhaust gases by exhaust stroke with the help of less horsepower will able distribute the energy in a more efficient way, well-tuned exhaust header will have a low-pressure area when the intake valve opens, Lower pressure area near TDC makes the low-pressure area vulnerable and gases will be filled faster into the cylinder, fresh air intake will be completed with a naturally aspirated engine forces the cylinder with fresh air intake at higher RPM. These makes the exhaust valves open which forces the gases out of the combustion chamber.
Where is header Located?
Header is located on the cylinder head on the exhaust side of the engine.
