Bought this since it's supposed to be made by Hitachi, just like the original AC Delco starter. Wanted an exact replacement. The box said TYC Diesel Starter (Hitachi) 'Made in China,' whereas the original was made in Japan. It's smaller than the original, which I wasn't thrilled about, but it did make putting it back in easier. Doesn't sound the same as the original starter, but it's been starting the truck for 2 weeks now without any issues. Just know that this isn't an exact copy of the original.
