Pontiac G5 Rear Brake Shoe
About rear brake shoe
A brake shoe is the component of a braking device that holds the brake lining in the drum brakes used on vehicles, or the brake block in train brakes and bicycle brakes. Also known as a brake shoe is a device which is put on a track to slow down railroad cars.
What is the purpose of rear brake shoe?
The rear brake shoe carries the brake lining that is used on vehicles in the drum brakes, or the brake block in train brakes and bicycle brakes.
How rear brake shoe works?
When the brake pedal will be applied the two curved brake shoes, which have a friction rubber lining, will be pushed by hydraulic wheel cylinders against the inner surface of a revolving brake drum. The result of this contact would produce friction that can slow or stop the vehicle.
