What is the purpose of radiator fan assembly?
The radiator fan assembly allows for the cooling of the engine. These cooling radiator fans are particularly helpful if the vehicle is moving very slowly and you are stuck to the outside airflow and air can not pass over the grill. Depending on the vehicle's internal temperature, the electrical cooling radiator fan which switches on and off as required is an improvement over motor-driven fans which slows down as much as required.
How radiator fan assembly works?
When the thermostat opens, the coolant on the engine is pumped into the radiator and a series of coils are sent to cool the coolant. The radiator uses the airflow to cool the radiator coils, and if it reaches some point the radiator fan can increase the airflow. This cycle stops the car from being overheated the entire time that the engine is running.
Where is radiator fan assembly located?
Normally, a cooling fan assembly is mounted between the radiator and the engine. This can be mounted on the radiator or behind it. Especially important for modern vehicles with small grill dimensions is airflow in the radiator. The cooling fans are powered by either an electric motor or the crankshaft of an engine.
