code. Here are some steps which a mechanic should follow for diagnosing the
problem that triggered a P2581 code to be stored:
To start your diagnosis you will need few
tools and equipment such as an OBD-II scanner, boost pressure gauge, hand-held
vacuum pump, vacuum gauge and also a dial indicator set. To begin with the
diagnosis you will first need to test drive your vehicle and check for any
engine knocks or engine misfires. Also check carefully the turbo hose amps,
turbo intakes and inter-cooler connections against any leaks or cracks.

read between 16 and 22 inches of vacuum, anything less than 16 inches will
indicate towards a poor catalytic converter.

re-test the circuits, wiring and connectors of the turbocharger boost sensor.
Lastly, check the voltage and resistance
values against manufacturer’s specs.
