You will need a diagnostic scanner, a digital volt/ohmmeter (DVOM), and a source of reliable vehicle information in order to be able to diagnose this P2234 code. Once you have got hold of everything, simply start your diagnosis by following the following steps:

• Connect your OBD scanner to the diagnostic port and retrieve all the codes and freeze frame the data. • If the battery voltage of the the HO2S is displaying no voltage in the data stream of your scanner then using the DVOM obtain live date from the HO2S connector. Now observe if the output is the same or not, if it is then you can suspect an internal problem with the HO2S like a short, this will need replacement.
