Improper functioning of the high voltage system is commonly known as the drive motor "B" phase U-V-W current sensor correlation. The drive motor generator power inverter control module comprises of 2 motor control modules and hybrid powertrain control module. As the two motor control modules are knotted together, the current which flows through the module will also remain the same. The P0BFE error will be set, if the same current does not flow and the high voltage system will be disconnected.

A rotating magnetic shield will be created in the MG2 as the three-phases alternating current will flow through the 3 phase windings of the stator coil. In accordance with the rotating position and speed of the rotor, the system will look after the rotation of the magnetic field. Finally, the permanent magnets which are present in the rotor will be pulled in the direction of rotation, producing torque and the produced torque will remain proportional to the amount of current. The speed of MG2 will be controlled by the system by creating the frequency of the alternating current. Also, the system will operate the magnetic field and the angle of the rotor magnets just to produce more torque in a proper manner at high speed.

What causes this problem with Drive Motor "B" Phase U-V-W Current Sensor Correlation?

• With respect to the P0BFE error code, you must check for the correct operation of the VCT solenoid. If you come across a sticking or stuck VCT solenoid which may have caused due to contamination, then refer to the vehicle specific repair manual to carry out the component test for the VCT unit.
