Wondering on how to crack the OBD error code P0B9B? Then you have just landed at the right place. Here we have listed all that you need to know about the error code P0B9B. This generic OBD-II code increased fuel consumption is also known as a hybrid battery voltage sense "T" circuit range/performance. A number of mini-batteries together form the high voltage battery pack. Whenever the high voltage control module identifies a problem with more than one battery packs that form the high voltage battery assembly, the code P0B9B is stored by it.

It should be noted that in totality 288 cells make up the hybrid/electric vehicle battery pack. These are welded together uniformly and are in group of three cells together. An aggregate of 96 cell groups can be found in the hybrid/EV battery pack assembly. These individual cell groups are aggregated at 3.7V for a nominal system voltage of 355 V direct current. These groups can be seen further branching into three individual sections. The battery section one contains the first 90 cells/30 cell groups. This section is situated near to the cowl and consists of batteries ranging from 67 to 96. Next, the battery section two (found behind the section one) is composed of 72 cells/24 cell groups and contains batteries from 43 to 66. Lastly, the section number three is referred to as the transverse battery section. The remaining 126 cells/42 cell groups are found in it and it contains batteries from 1 to 42. All the three battery sections can be serviced individually.

The battery energy control module performs the function of monitoring the voltage of the 96 battery cell groups through the four hybrid/EV battery interface control modules. There are also voltage sense circuits that are connected to each individual cell group. Ending at a connector located on the top surface of the battery section, all of these sense circuits are associated to an individual cell group. A serviceable auxiliary battery wiring harness connects this connector to a hybrid/EV battery interface control module that can also be located on the top surface of the battery section. The codifying of the voltage reading is done by the hybrid/EV battery interface control module and is further transmitted by the battery control harness to the battery energy control module. One hybrid/EV battery interface control module is mounted on the battery sections one and two, and two hybrid/EV battery interface control modules are connected with battery section three. The list of parts that can be serviced include the hybrid/EV battery interface control module, battery energy control module wiring harness, auxiliary battery wiring harness, and battery energy control module.

The errors are notified by the battery energy control module. The battery energy control module transmits diagnostics and system status to hybrid/EV powertrain control module 2 the through serial data. The hybrid/EV powertrain control module 2 mainly controls the diagnostic trouble code information.

Easy Diagnosis Of Engine Error OBD Code P0B9B

It is essential to diagnose this fault code. Here are some steps which a mechanic should follow for diagnosing the problem that triggered a P0B9B code to be stored:

It is notable that as soon as you put your foot down on the brakes, the car slows down to comes to stop. Hydraulic pressure aids the power applied by the foot on the brake pedal. A piston with a caliper along with brake pads attached (tied abrasive and heat resistance metal or ceramic) is engaged by the foot’ force to put pressure on the rotor. The code P0B9B tends to register a sensor fault therefore replacement of the sensor won’t solve the problem completely. Mostly, this problem is triggered by the systems that are monitored by the sensor. The wiring to the sensor can also trigger the error code P0B9B.

Common Mistakes When Diagnosing the P0B9B Code

  • Here we have listed a few common mistakes that should be avoided while performing the procedure:
  • A failed high voltage battery connection
  • A defective high voltage battery assembly
  • Wiring is damaged
