Guide To P0A70 OBD Error Code Solutions
OBD Code P0A70 - Generator Phase U Current Low
In your vehicle
the high-voltage direct current passed on by the High Voltage battery and
alternating current for the MG1/MG2 get converted by the inverter. This
inverter contains a 3 phase bridge circuit, this circuit has 6 power
transistors each for the MG1 and MG2. The purpose of them is to convert the
direct current and the three-phase alternating current. The ECU which is the HV
control, actuates the power of the transistors. The information necessary for
effecting control like amperage and voltage is transmitted by the inverter. It
sends this information to the HV control ECU. The amperage that flows through
the V and W phase cabled is detected by the motor inverter current sensors.
These cables run between the inverter and Mg1/MG2, only the important
information is transmitted for effecting control this includes amperage and voltage
to the HV control ECU. Any malfunction picked up by the ECU when monitoring the
inverter current sensors will force it to set P0A70 error code.
Learn More About OBD Error Code P0A70
The high voltage control module of the
vehicle monitors the flow of current through the high voltage cables via
sensors. If a failure of the current monitoring sensors is noted by the high
voltage control module or the ECU this OBD code P0A70 is set.

Easy Diagnosis Of Engine Error OBD Code P0A70
In order to be that DIY guy and to be able to
diagnose your vehicle’s problem yourself you will need to keep in mind the
following precautions
Connect your OBD scanner to the vehicle
diagnostic port and retrieve all the codes. Freeze frame the data and check if
any other codes are also set. Make sure you note these down in their order of
occurrence also. Doing this will help to be a reference point in the future.
After making note of all the codes, clear them and take your vehicle on a test
drive to see if the code resets or if the PCM enters readiness more. If the
latter happens, then you are having an intermittent condition, this condition
may have to worsen before accurate diagnosis can be made.
However, if you find that the code is reset,
then you will have to start your diagnosis with checking all of the electrical
system connected with the this issue. You will have to check all the wires, connectors,
harnesses etc. for damages like burning, breaks, corrosion etc. If you are able
to find any of these issues, simply correct them via repairs or opr for
replacement. After you have sorted the circuitry you will have to clear the
codes and again go on a test drive to see if the code returns or the PCM enters
readiness mode.
If the code is reset, then you will have to
check all the parts pertaining to this problem. You will have to find a
reliable source of vehicle information and first find out your vehicles
Technical Service Bulletins, these will have all the details of the parts and
components. Make sure to match the OBD code, symptoms and your vehicles
configuration like mae, model, engine size etc accurately. You can now use the
directions given by the TSB to fix your problem, the connector pinout charts,
and circuit flow charts etc will be extremely helpful and enable you to avoid
any misdiagnosis.
In case you’re unable to still resolve the
problem, approach a professional vehicle diagnostician for it and resolve your
issue properly.
