Here are some steps which you should follow in order to diagnose this fault code:

A diagnostic scanner, a digital volt/ohmmeter and a reliable vehicle information source will prove necessary for diagnosing a code P043E.

You can always use your vehicle information source to check for technical service bulletins (TSB) that match symptoms and codes presented in the vehicle being diagnosed.
