Kia Rondo Fog Light Assembly
About fog light assembly
Fog Lights assembly is the light assembly located under a vehicle's headlight assembly. They came into being as a security feature. The assembly of fog light ensures the road visibility ahead is maintained even under conditions such as fog, mist, dust or snow. During these conditions, the visibility offered by standard headlight setup is limited, so the installation of a fog light assembly makes driving in such conditions safer. The fog lights are structured internally differently from headlights, and are located in a vehicle's lower front bumper. When visibility is below 100 metres, they are used alongside the low beams.
What is the purpose of fog light assembly?
The fog lights ensure the road visibility is maintained even in reduced visibility conditions such as fog or heavy downpour. Since they are intentionally oriented downwards, they have less light throw than headlights. Even so, in impaired visibility conditions, it is enough for the driver to reach destination safely.
How fog light assembly Works?
The nature and structure of the fog lights is such that the beam is as low as possible. This helps the beam to illuminate the entirety of the road and to prevent the beam from bouncing off the fog which could possibly contribute to the visibility already affected. The beam from the fog lights has a very sharp cut-off angle which maximizes visibility of the road. Turning the key to the fog lights sign activates the fog lights. This completes the circuit of fog lights that power them through the principal battery of the vehicle.
Where is fog light assembly Located?
The set of fog lights is mounted under the headlight set, at either side of the car, in the lower front bumper.
