It smoothly and effectively operates the alternator, the power steering pump, the air conditioning and the water pump. The serpentine belt plays an significant role in the electrical charging system of the vehicle and control many mechanical components inside the vehicle.
How Serpentine Belt Works?
The serpentine belt helps power several motor accessories. Within an automobile engine, the idler pulley and/or belt tensioner controls the belt to drive several peripheral machines. The belt is built with several grooves connecting to the attachment drive pulleys while a tensioner roller links the flat side of the belt. The belt revolves around the alternator, the power steering pump, the air pump and the water pump to keep the engine running steadily on continuously. To prevent slipping of the belt, the belt is slipped intact over pulleys and idler pulleys are used to press against the back of the belt.
