Dodge Sprinter Fog Light Assembly
About fog light assembly
Fog Lights assembly is the light assembly found under the headlight assembly of a vehicle. They came into existence as a safety feature. The fog light assembly makes sure that the road visibility ahead is maintained even in conditions like fog, mist, dust or snow. The visibility offered by standard headlight setup during such conditions is limited, so installing a fog light assembly makes it safer to drive in such conditions. The fog lights are internally structured differently than headlights and are located in the lower front bumper of a vehicle. They are used alongside the low beams when the visibility is below 100 meters.
What is the purpose of fog light assembly?
The fog lights ensure the road visibility is maintained even in the conditions of diminished visibility like fog or heavy downpour. They have lesser light throw than headlights since the are deliberately focused downwards. Even so, it is enough for the driver to reach the destination safely in impaired visibility conditions.
How fog light assembly Works?
The structure and design of the fog lights are such that the beam is as low as possible. This enables the beam to illuminate the road the maximum and preventing the beam to reflect off the fog which could possibly add to the already impaired visibility. The beam from the fog lights has a very sharp cut off angle because of which it maximizes the road visibility. The fog lights are activated by rotating the switch to the fog lights symbol. This completes the fog lights circuit powering them through the vehicle's main battery.
Where is fog light assembly Located?
The fog lights assembly is placed under the headlight assembly, in the lower front bumper on either sides of the vehicle.
