What does the tie rod do?

The tie rods helps your vehicle in terms of steering. Tie rods have two parts, an inner and outer end. The tie rod works with the Ball joint in converting force from the steering center link to the steering “knuckle.” Simply put, the tie rods help with steering smoothly and the front end alignment of your vehicle.

In the worst case scenario when a tie rod completely fails, the wheel will break free of the steering assembly which then causes the vehicle to lose the ability to steer. At the first sign of any wear to the tie rods, steering is already at risk and the vehicle is not safe to drive.
