I ordered these and had to be careful during installation to avoid getting oil from my hands on them—it's bad for the bulbs. One bulb failed within a week, which wasn't a huge deal, but getting them replaced is proving to be a hassle. They'd leave my large TV outside all day without a heads-up, but now they're being fussy over a $18 CAD bulb. Thanks a lot.

          I put these into my Hella 500 driving lights, which originally had 55w H3 bulbs, and I'm only using them off-road (since that's where they're actually allowed). The difference was night and day—these bulbs throw light much farther and brighten up the 'dead' spot in my old beam pattern. They seem to double the light output easily, although that's just my guess, not measured. The only catch is they run hotter, so I'm careful not to leave them on while parked. If you're upgrading, make sure your wiring can handle 100w, and that your lamps are relay-operated. Installation's a breeze—just grab a Phillips screwdriver, five minutes, and remember not to touch the bulb glass. Hands down, these are game-changers for off-road lighting.

              The stock driving lights on the TJ are pretty useless. But pop these lamps in, and suddenly you've got functional fog lamps. Remember not to use white lamps for fog – the light just reflects back at you. Yellow penetrates and lets you see further while also making you more visible to others. Took about 10 minutes per side to install, which is a bit tricky on a 2006 TJ. Pro tip: use the open-end wrench and take it off the bumper. And don't touch the lamp with your fingers during installation!
