About Headlight & Fog Light
Headlight A headlight or headlamp is essentially a light that is connected to the vehicle in order to make the road clear under dark conditions. Although both headlights and headlamps are used as synonyms but a system that emits a beam of light known as headlight is actually headlamp. Fog light The type of headlights that emit straight beam of light in a bar shape is the fog lights or fog lamps. Such fog lights typically have a sharp cut-off on top with light beam pointed toward the road at a sharp angle that improves visibility. It is important to understand that, depending on the conditions, the headlamps use both high beam and low beam to increase the visibility over a distance. Whereas high beams emit light over long distances at high intensity, low beams emit narrower low intensity beams to give a clearer view of the ground up to a certain distance. Fog lamps are mounted just in front of the vehicle at a much sharper angle to emit light beam to the ground.
