Vic Edelbrock designed first intake manifold in 1938 in order to increase the power of his 1932 Ford roadster. His "slingshot" manifold assisted his flathead Ford in setting a new quarter-mile record after minor modifications. After World War II, word spread about this manifold, prompting Edelbrock to venture into manufacturing. Vic's firm expanded into new markets as he and his successors pursued higher performance. Edelbrock is now one of the world's leading manufacturers of aftermarket performance components. The company's products are still developed and manufactured in the United States. With 6 facilities in Carolina and North Carolina, the firm offers several products such as distributor parts, fuel injection parts, engine components, and more.
