Did Parts Avatar Eclipse Ferrari & Porsche?

It was a hot spring afternoon, the kind that makes you crave summer, when our Marketing Director, Shaan Siddiqui, got a call. It was Formula 1. 20 minutes later, Parts Avatar Canada was Grand Prix Montreal’s newest sponsor. Coming in as the underdogs with less than 2 months to prepare for a booth at the Crescent Street Grand Prix Festival and facing some heavy competition, we had our work cut out for us. As we deliberated over the details, one thing was certain; we were bringing in our custom-rebuilt Mitsubishi Eclipse and our one-of-a-kind 1967 Pontiac GTO.

As the date grew closer so did our team as we worked together tirelessly to ensure that we would end up on the podium for this event. In the words of Muhammed Ali, we realized we couldn’t sting like a bee, so we knew we had to float like a butterfly and rise above the rest of the competition. (Unlike Muhammad Ali, we realized we couldn't sting like a bee, so we had to float like a butterfly to rise above the rest of the competition. ….is what I would say)We weren’t going to beat the heavy hitters with their resources, so we had to remain light on our feet and be adaptable in the face of the impending storm.

The weekend started off with a bang… of thunder, as dark rain clouds enclosed Montreal's city center we knew a storm was brewing. Nothing could have prepared us for the torrential rain and biblical winds that hit our booth throughout the weekend, but we were not going to let Mother Nature kill our momentum. Rain or shine, our staff was ready with a smile on their face, air fresheners in hand and contagious energy that drove the masses to our booth.

Whether it was to strike a pose at our 360 Hollywood photo booth or to battle it out with their friends at our RC car racetrack, people lined up to get a taste of the action. As we hustled to keep up with the demand we were rewarded with joy and encouragement from both attendees and organizers for our unending energy and enthusiasm. Even the other sponsors wanted to see what we are all about. Our friendly neighbours at the event decided to test our mettle and challenge us to a little “rev battle”; our custom Mitsubishi Eclipse vs their Porsche 911 GT2 and once the smoke settled, it was clear that we eclipsed the competition. Porsche… there may be no substitute, but there is better.

Despite adversities and the worst weather imaginable, our team rallied together to not only make the event a success, but to get us the top spot on the podium. We would never have been able to claim the gold medal without our team, who worked ceaselessly around the clock to show the world that we care about empowering people to maintain, repair and improve one of the most important aspects of Canadian living; their vehicles. To us it’s not just a car, it’s a way of life. We’re not just stopping at Formula One, we’re excited to continue bringing PartsAvatar to the light and show our fellow Canadians that they have the resources and tools to uphold that way of life right at their fingertips.
