Chevrolet Equinox Front Strut
About front strut
Struts would comprise of a lot of suspension assembly parts, like the coil spring and shock absorber, and would affect the steering and alignment of your car. They would provide support to the suspension springs. A lot of automobiles come with struts on the front, as well as shocks on the back end. The only job of a shock would be to absorb bumps on the road.
What is the purpose of front strut?
They would be mounted at the top of the chassis at the front-end of most front-wheel-drive automobiles. However, struts would not be limited to front-wheel-drive configurations. The main purpose of the struts is to support the weight of the vehicle while also absorbing surface impacts and at the same time would ensure a smooth ride.
How front strut works?
The struts would perform a shock damping function like shock absorbers. Internally, a strut is same as a shock absorber. A piston would be attached to the end of the piston rod and it would work against hydraulic fluid to control spring and suspension movement.
