How Universal Converter Works?
A catalytic converter is a large metal box that has two pipes coming out of it, attached to the underside of the car. One of them is attached to the engine and provides the engine cylinders with dry, polluted fumes. The second valve is inserted into the tailpipe. As the gases from the engine fumes blow over the catalyst, chemical reactions occur on its surface, breaking up the polluting gases and converting them into other gases that are safe enough to blow out into the air harmlessly. The catalytic converter is an exhaust emission control device which by catalyzing a redox reaction reduces toxic gases and pollutants in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine to less-toxic pollutants. Catalytic converters are commonly used for either gasoline or diesel-powered internal combustion engines.
