Step 1 - choose one according to your estimated budget

You can choose visors according to the money you are willing to spend. If looking for something inexpensive, you can get it from an online store. Be cautious and careful regarding the size and other properties of the sun visor before investing in one.

There are sun visors that are operated manually. They will need you to pull them up and down using your hands. They can be shifted outwards to block the sun coming in from either the driver's or passenger's side front windows.

A number of them have an extension that you can manually pull out to block more of the sun to the side or in the space that is present between the two visors over the rear-view mirror.

Lastly, they also include a vanity mirror that when you open, it lights up.

Step 3 - Choose a colour according to your own preference when you select a replacement

Purchase sun visor from the automaker to be sure of the visor you need.

Keep in mind the size of sun visor that you need as this depends largely on the make, model, and year of the vehicle. For all this information, look inside the door jamb of the driver's side door along with the vehicle's title and registration.

Remove the sun visor:

Step 1:

You should unlock the sun visor and take the sun visor and pull it down. Then it should be turned to the side so that is against the window.

Step 2:

The main assembly cover should be removed. For that use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the plastic cover off completely of the main assembly.

It is the main assembly area where the sun visor is attached to the ceiling of the vehicle.

Find tabs and be careful in trying not to break them while removing the cover. The number of tabs (if present) solely depends on the make/model of the vehicle.

Then the plastic cover should be removed carefully by inserting a flathead screwdriver into the slit running down from the top portion of the plastic cover surface. Next, the cover should twist carefully until it comes loose by moving the sun visor around if important. At the end, you should be able to see the screws of the main assembly.

Step 3:

The screws should be removed from the main assembly. According to the type of screws, you should utilize a flathead or Phillips head screwdriver for removing all of the screws that hold the visor in place. Usually, the number ranges from 2-4.

Step 4:

then remove the visor after you have removed all the screws that hold the visor in the right position. Finally, pull the visor out of the main assembly. For this, you might need the visor to be wiggled slightly to clear all tabs (if any) that fasten the visor in position.

Replacing the sun visor:

Now that the old visor has been removed, install the new one. Be careful in installing it with any mirrors or warning labels facing towards the passenger or driver's seat.

Step 1:

The visor stem should be inserted. For that, take a replacement visor and insert the visor stem into the sun visor assembly. Ones that have a tab, should be inserted into the placement hole. Lastly, slide the remaining part of the stem visor into place.

Step 2:

The screws should be inserted. You need to line up the screw holes of the assembly to the visor placement holes. After inserting the screws, tighten them down using a flathead or Phillips head screwdriver varying on the screw type.

Step 3:

The assembly cover should be replaced and place the assembly cover back into the right position. Do it carefully to avoid cracking the cover. Ensure to fit all the tabs right back into their slots. Lastly, now all has been done, probe it to see if it works properly and has a full range of motion.
