How To Change Rear View Car Mirror?

Well, the pickup trucks too have these rear view car mirrors as well. It is usable in them when they are used as passenger trucks. The DOT (department of transportation) rated car mirrors are certified for vehicle use at all times and are mostly installed by the manufacturer for safety purposes. On the other hand, a number of other rear view car mirrors that are not DOT certified tend to adversely interfere with the driver's vision and are a threat to their judgement.

Step 12: A razor scraper should be used to remove the remaining glue from the glass: Position the edge of the blade on the glass and continue scraping until you find the surface to be smooth again. Then the mounting plate should be left attached inside the bracket on the mirror. All the adhesive should be removed using a scraper.

 

Step 13: Clean the dust: Using a wet a lint-free cloth along with isopropyl alcohol, wipe the inside of the glass to remove any dust remaining after the adhesive has been scrapped. Then allow the alcohol to evaporate completely before moving onto attaching a mirror to the glass.

 

Step 14: Unscrew the mounting screws: Again, unscrew these from the base of the car mirror connecting to the cab. The screws should be taken out of the mirror housing.

 

Step 15: The mirror should be removed: Remove the gaskets.

 

Step 16: Get adhesive from the rearview car mirror adhesive kit: Now you should apply the adhesive to the back of the mounting plate. Position the mounting plate on the area of the glass where you marked it.

 

Step 17: Gently press on the mounting plate to seat the glue: By doing this the glue will get heated up and all the air will be removed. This can be done on standard DOT, wide DOT, wide with deflector DOT, and custom design mirrors:

 

Step 18: The mirror should be placed onto the mounting plate: Now you should slide the mirror into place so that it fits firmly and does not move at all.

 

Step 19: The mounting screws should be installed into the base of the mirror with clear silicone: Tighten the screw.

 

Step 20: The mirror should be positioned onto the mounting plate: Carefully slide the mirror into place where it can fit firmly and does not move.

 

Step 21: The harness should be installed onto the mirror plug: Ensure that the lock clicks into the right place.

 

Step 22: The mounting screws should be installed into the base of the mirror using clear silicone: Tighten the screw on the custom cab fit and bus DOT mirrors

 

Step 23: The mirror and gaskets (if any) should be installed onto the cab: You need to screw in the mounting screws using clear silicone into the base of the mirror that connects it to the cab.

 

Step 24: The mounting screws should be tightened: The car mirror and the gaskets should be removed (if there are any).

 

Step 25: The ground cable should be connected again back onto the battery’s negative post: The nine-volt battery saver should be removed from the cigarette lighter.

 

Step 26: The battery clamp should be tightened: Make sure that the connection is good.

Step 1: You should move the mirror in all directions to check and ensure proper movement: The car mirror glass should be inspected to make sure that it is tight and clean.
