A Guide To Your Car's Mirror Kit
What Is A Car Mirror Kits?
The human vision is limited to a 150-degree
peripheral view. This reduces how much we can view while sitting in the
driver’s seat. In order to get a better view of the vehicles surrounding, side
view mirrors are used, which gives us an insight into what’s behind and around
our cars. The mirrors have some lettering stating “Objects in mirror are closer
than they appear." What this means is that the objects are made to appear
smaller in the mirrors so that the driver can view greater number of objects
through the mirror thereby increasing his field of view. The mirrors constitute
an essential visibility system of the vehicle that helps the driver better
understand his surroundings and be more aware. This reduces potential accidents
due to lack of vision. A Car Mirror Kit contains the glass and its housing or head.
Where Are Car Mirror Kits Located?
A
mirror kit offers flexibility in term of where they can be mounted. It can be
attached to your existing mirrors or replace them making them a versatile option
to choose from.
Important Features Of Mirror Kits
The
side view mirrors have been a key feature in cars for a long time but have been
placed in different places from the door to fenders. These are used to describe
the essential driving aid for knowing what’s happening in an adjacent lane and
aimed at increasing the driver’s field of view and ability to see objects
around the vehicle. It is necessary to view if there is a car approaching in
the adjacent lane while maneuvering to the side so as to prevent accidents and
help the driver make more informed decisions.

installed here is a guide:
- The
mirror is attached to the vehicle door and in order to remove it you need to
access it from the door inside.
- There
will be a sail cover on the inside of the door above the door panel next to the
window.
- It
can be removed using a plastic scraper and exposes the hardware that secures
the mirror cover to the door.
- Most
electronic mirror controls and indicator light connections will be visible
which needs to be removed before undoing the bolts for the cover. If the
connections tab isn’t visible then it is in the door panel. Remove the door
panel and unlatch the tab.
- Now undo the bolts that hold the cover making sure to hold it while removing the last bolt or may fall and break the mirror.
- Place
the new mirror and redo the bolts. Reattach the connections and install the sail
cover. Reinstall the door panel if it was removed
