Buick Regal Rear Brake Hose
About rear brake hose
Brake hoses made of from stainless steel or rubber and are used to deliver the required braking force to the brake pads via hydraulic pressure and brake fluid. Brake hoses must be flexible enough so that the driver can easily steer and brake as well as navigate over and around obstacles.
What is the purpose of rear brake hose?
The key purpose of a brake hose is to deliver brake fluid to the wheel brake cylinder from the solid pipework on the axle. Since your wheel pivoting on the axle needs a flexible pipe to allow the steering to shift, a rigid pipe would just snap.
How rear brake hose works?
Hydraulic pressure from the brake lines to the wheel cylinders and calipers will be borne by brake hoses. The rubber brake hoses will rotate, causing the tire cylinders and calipers to travel up and down with the wheels relative to the frame of the vehicle.
Where is rear brake hose located?
If your car has a live axle or two if it has an independent rear suspension, there is usually one hose at the rear. These hoses will run between the pipes and brakes at the front of the vehicle. Unless the car has separate rear suspension, the same arrangement is used at the rear.
