Your engine needs clean air to run efficiently, an air filter is responsible for delivering clean air to your vehicle’s Engine through air intake. It is important to have a clean air filter so that your vehicle can run as efficiently as possible.
When should you change your air filter?
Once every 20,000 kilometers or 12 months. However, always check your air filter after a few months or a couple of thousand kms for dirt and contaminants, if your air filter is dirty, replace it with a new one.
Follow these easy steps on how to change your air filter.
Step 1. Buy The Right Air Filter.
Visit www.partsavatar.ca and select your vehicle from the home page. From the drop down menu under Replacement Parts click on Filters and then select the air filter to purchase.
Step 2. Pop The Hood And Locate The Air Filter Box.
The air filter box is black in color and is usually located besides the engine.
Step 3. Open The Air Filter Box.
Open the air filter box. Some vehicles have wing nuts, while other air filters are just clamped on with a quick release system.
Step 4. Check And Remove The Dirty Old Air Filter.
Check the air filter and remove the dirty old air filter out of the box by simply grabbing and pulling it out with your hand.
Step 5. Put In The New Air Filter.
Put the new air filter in the air filter box and secure the metal clips or screws if your air box had them when you first opened it.
