Be ready for a bit of a struggle
Francois H.Reviewed in HAPPY VALLEY-GOOSE BAY, NL on December 15, 2023
The SKF HB88532 was a perfect fit for my 2004 Silverado 1500 LS extended cab. It was snug, but removing the old part was quite the battle. For those of you going through this, the ring in the kit slips on after the bearing goes on the shaft, held in place by tension. My original ring was super tight; after it finally came off, it wouldn't fit over the spline at the end. Here are a few pointers from my experience: protect the shaft with tape, you might need to get creative with your puller, and don't be shy with a big hammer. Remember, once you start cutting away the old shell, you're committed—your vehicle isn't going anywhere until you're done. I also swapped out the seal on the end of my shaft with a new plastic one since the old one was broken, causing a nasty grease ring under my truck. All sorted now.
Yes, I recommend this product.
Stick with it, and it'll work like a charm

The SKF HB88532 fit my 2004 Silverado 1500 LS extended cab like a dream, but getting the old one off was no joke. If you're going down this road, be ready for a bit of a tussle. But once you commit, it's straightforward. Also, replaced the end seal with a new hard plastic one, and no more grease puddles under the truck!
Yes, I recommend this product.
