How To Inspect Your Brake Pads?

Know Your Brakes!

Know Your Brakes!

Use wheel blocks for safety and jack up your vehicle and put a jack stand under the car.

Remove the lug nuts and take off the tire of the vehicle to set it aside.

After removing the tire you should have the disc brake assembly reviled in front of you. Grab the caliper as shown highlighted in golden color above and check to make sure it's not loose.

On the brake caliper look for a cut out highlighted above as an inspection hole, from which you can clearly see both of the pads. Check the thickness of each pad if the thickness is not as of a new pad and shows obvious wear on the pad, then both of the pads will need to be replaced.

Put the tire back on and take the jack stand out to lower down the vehicle safely.
